The monument to Dmitriy Donskoy was opened in Kolomna in 2007 near the walls of Kolomna Kremlin. The height of the bronze statue of the horse is 5,5 meters, with the overall height of the monument 12 meters. The monument reminds of the victory of Russian warriors over Tatar troops in the well-known battle on Kulikovo field in summer 1380. During this time the forces of the Prince Dmitry were staying in Kolomna. The troops of the Russian land were concentrated here before the battle.
The monument to Dmitriy Donskoy in Kolomna is the only statue of the Prince with a horse in Russia.
